Submissions

The Slide Room Gallery is open to proposals for curatorial projects as well as proposals for exhibitions from individual artists. Submissions are accepted on an on-going basis.

The Slide Room Gallery’s curatorial mandate is to focus on contemporary art practice with a preference for group exhibitions of three persons or more. Proposals for group exhibitions should include a curatorial theme on which the selected works are based.

If you are submitting work as an individual artist, please note that we might contact you with the possibility of participating in a group show. While we are not in the financial position to provide artist’s fees we do offer artists the opportunity to sell work in our gallery with  20% of the proceeds being donated back to the gallery. Depending on funding, a full-colour catalogue with a curatorial essay is provided for selected exhibitions.

To submit a proposal please include the following:
– project description [one page]*
– artist statement [one page]*
– current curriculum vitae*
– list of artist(s) names, titles and sizes of all images submitted*
– list of any special equipment required
– 10-15 images (minimum size for images is 600 pixels wide)

All items marked with asterisk (*) should be in Word format and file name should start with last name of person sending material as well as what the contents are: eg. doe artist statement.docx.

Send all above materials via a file sharing program such as Dropbox.
